IFMA North Alabama

History

The North Alabama Chapter of IFMA was incorporated as a chapter in October 1989 with approximately 20 members.  Bill Clark, Director of Facilities at Universal Data Systems, was our first President.  Doyle Robertson, General Supply Strategist with the US Army Strategic Defense Command (currently with Boeing), was our first Vice President. Bob Barnes, Facilities Manager for McDonnell Douglas, was our first Secretary/Treasurer.

Several of our current members joined our chapter in its first few years and have been active members ever since.  They are Wayne McVay, Facilities Manager at Alabama Super Computer Authority, joined January 1990; Donna Robinson, Senior Software Consultant at Dynetics Technical Services for the Facilities Office at MSFC/NASA, joined February 1990; Lawrence Hillis, Facility Operations Supervisor at SAIC, joined February 1993; George King, Vice President for ACS Inc, joined 1002 and Rosie Munzner, Sales at Office Environments, joined our chapter in September 1994.

Over the years, our chapter has continued to grow and gain many Professional and Associate members who have played a huge part in making our chapter what it is today.  We typically average around 70+/- members.  Our chapter conducts informative meetings or tours of local facilities the third Thursday of each month.
