March 2018 Membership Update

March was a great month for our chapter!  We gained an additional seven new members in March and early April bringing our chapter total to 116!   Our chapter is continuing to break new ground thanks to you and your loyal participation in our chapter events.

You can help us continue to grow by renewing your membership when you get a notice from corporate that it's about to expire.  If you also know of any potential members, please invite them to one of our informative meetings.

Kudos to Our Chapter CFM/FMPs

As of April 2, 2018, our chapter has three members who have received their CFM credentials and seven members who have received their FMP credentials!  This is a great accomplishment and one our chapter should be proud of and very proud of the members who achieved this status.

This is the most respected global credential in facility man agement.  With it, one can earn distinction, demonstrate expertise and increase earning potential.  The CFM credential sets the industry standard for ensuring the knowledge and competence of practicing facility managers.  IFMA's certification process is designed to assess competency in the field through work experience, education and the ability to pass a comprehensive exam that covers 11 competencies that make up the facility management body of knowledge.

World Workplace 2017

Several of our chapter members went to World Workplace last October and we asked them to write down comments about their experience.  Here they are!

I was working the entire time at the trade show so I didn’t get to explore very much. I can tell you that it was very well attended and the Houston venue was excellent and provided great accommodations for after show hours. There was great representation from IFMA members and facilities professionals from all over the country. Unfortunately I didn’t get to attend any of the lectures or many of the events other than the show. I wish I could be more help… I apologize I didn’t even get any pictures which I could have. I know for us it was a great event. All our hard work paid off and we networked with a lot of individuals and had a constant stream of people in the Bodybilt booth. We are looking forward to next year!

The IFMA Conference was great. The IFMA Team was very service oriented. The classes were very informative and the value going forward was rewarding. The vendor showcase was also service oriented. Vendors visited provided good information that would impact my organization. Also had good ideas from supplies and equipment on display. Events also were inviting and really felt like I had been there for years.  People in the industry really were very friendly. I even got a pic with President of IFMA.  Kind of blurry like the Matrix but smiles all around. Main speakers we awesome!
